Endodontics is a speciality within dentistry whose purpose is the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of both early and advanced pulp conditions affecting the dental pulp, the tooth roots or the periapical region (the root tip – granuloma = pocket of pus).
The endodontic treatments available at our practice are as follows:
Pulp treatment:
◘ direct and indirect pulp capping
◘ vital pulpectomy (removal of the pulp), chemo-mechanical preparation of the root canal with hand and rotary instruments, and filling of the canal.
Apical surgery:
◘ periapical curettage, periapical resection with retrograde filling, sealing of root perforations, root separation, root amputation – premolarisation.
Treatment of periapical lesions (osteitis, granulomas) with hypochlorite and calcium hydroxide dressings;
Retreatment of inadequately treated root canals;
Whitening of endodontically treated teeth.
